COVID-19 Vaccination

What is the COVID-19 Vaccine?

  • The coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine is safe and effective. It gives you the best protection against coronavirus.

  • The COVID-19 vaccine is given as an injection into your upper arm. It's given as 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

Carepoint Practice has started to book in patients into COVID-19 vaccination Hubs.

We have a limited amount of slots which we can book into each week, therefore we have been contacting/booking patients who are eligible, with the most vulnerable being contacted first. We will contact all eligible patients within the next few weeks/months once we have been notified of further supply by Hillingdon CCG

  • If your local vaccination center is not vaccinating an eligibility group (despite government stating that areas are now allowed to), we will not be able to book you in.

  • If members of your household who are not presently eligible wish to have the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time as an eligible patient, this will not be possible.

Scams

We are also aware of several reports of people being contacted by fraudsters offering the Covid19 vaccine. The reports show text messages being sent providing a link for people to register their details to apply for the vaccine, some of which require payment.

These text messages and links are not sent from, or linked to, the NHS.

Please note the NHS will:

  • NEVER ask you to press a button on your keypad or send a text asking you to confirm you want the vaccine.

  • NEVER ask for payment for the vaccine or for your bank details.

If you receive a text message from an unfamiliar number:

  • Do not respond to it or click on any links

  • Do not enter any personal or log on details

  • Do not make any payment
