Home Blood Pressure Monitoring

Currently, the 24 hour blood pressure service is on hold due to limited face to face interactions as a result of COVID 19. This has created a back log of referrals & currently the 24 hour blood pressure service has stopped accepting any new referrals.

The "Home Blood Pressure Monitoring" is another NICE approved way of helping clinicians to confirm a diagnosis of hypertension.

Please buy a blood pressure machine from any local chemist or online.

How to record your blood pressure at home:

  • for each blood pressure recording, take 2 consecutive measurements, at least 1 minute apart whilst seated and

  • blood pressure is recorded twice daily, ideally in the morning and evening and

  • blood pressure recording continues for at least 4 days, ideally for 7 days

Please use this method to record your blood pressure & fill out the following form via eConsult:
